Gift of Life Celebrates Child Abuse Prevention Month

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month and Gift of Life is showing their support by participating in the “Decorate a Blue Ribbon Tree for Kids” campaign.

Agencies throughout the State were asked to take action for all children and “build” a blue ribbon tree. The blue ribbon is the international sign for child abuse prevention and serves as a constant reminder that all of us have a responsibility to help keep our children safe.

The Gift of Life “tree” was surrounded by pinwheels, which is the grassroots symbol intended to change the way communities think about child abuse prevention.

During the month long celebration, GOL staff members will take part in a number of community awareness activities, including a rally to be held on the steps of the Alabama State House.
