Gift of Life Celebrates 20
Years of Service
The Gift of Life Foundation kicked off 20
years of serving mothers and babies by celebrating on
Thursday, October 16, 2008 at the Alabama Activity Center in
Montgomery, Alabama with past and present board members and
staff, volunteers, subcontractors, and community partners.
Dr. Bob Beshear, a charter member of the Gift of Life board,
shared with the attendees the history of the Gift of Life.
Executive Director, Martha Jinright recognized current board
and staff members, then introduced a video, which showcased
the Foundation and its work, people, and mission over the
last 20 years.
Since 1988, Gift of Life has been involved
in providing access to maternity services and education to
more than 90,000 new mothers in 20 counties in Alabama.
Through its Maternity Care Program as well as its other
projects, the Gift of Life works to ensure women have access
to quality maternal and child healthcare resources so that
all children are born healthy with the best possible start
for their future.
